UPDATE: Those tix have already been handed out to our lucky winner, but drop a line if you fancy the LP or CD.
Stirring echoes from the valleys of his soul, Taylor Kirk channels his being into Timber Timbre, the Canadian artist’s musical nom de plume. His harrowing fragility has been resonating deeply with us lately; like lichens on an age-defying tree, we feel like Kirk’s uniquely spare arrangements are timeless.
Nothing backs our case more than Timber Timbre’s self-titled album - the band’s fourth - which coalesced in late June. As you can witness via samples on TT’s MySpace profile, the Arts & Crafts effort is more haunted than the house in “Beetlejuice.”
If you’re on the same page as us - and if you’re still reading, we gather you probably are - then you get a reward, ’cause we have some nifty Timber Timbre treats up our sleeve (thanks to their camp).
Wanna hear the self-titled Timber Timbre album, which we just raved about? Won’t be convinced until you see them live?
On either front, you’re in luck. We’re rolling out our latest contest, and those aforementioned spoils will go to the victors.
Here’s what we have in the hopper:
-two tickets to Timber Timbre’s September 17 show at the Silverlake Lounge in L.A.
-a vinyl version of Timber Timbre
-a CD version of Timber Timbre
Also cool: The L.A. show is actually the kickoff to the band’s 14-gig North American trek supporting Final Fantasy, who you’ll get to see too. Go to that already-linked-to Timber Timbre MySpace page for more info.
If you’re interested in the two tickets, the LP or the CD, drop a hello to Kurt@IndiePit.com. If you want to improve your chances of winning, send along as many band names as you can find in our recent word search.
Good luck. Have fun. Happy Thursday. Toodles.
