In 2002, Good Charlotte were on the top of the world.
Two years ago, they opened for Justin Timberlake.
Now? They’re bound for the L.A. County Fair, along with Peter Frampton, War - and “Monster Truck Madness.”
Even sadder, look at the bottom of this newspaper ad and you’ll see Puddle of Mudd. The crap-rockers, who had a three-times-platinum album in ‘01, are also fair-bound - they’re opening for the abhorrent Shinedown.
“Hottest acts of the summer”? Maybe they’re talking about Pomona, which’ll be seeing 90-degree temps pretty soon. So in that sense, yeah, the bands will be “hot” playing onstage.

I don’t think they played the fair because that is the only gig they can get. They just wanted to do a few local shows in preparation for their big tour next year. They are working on a new album which should be out early 2010.
By the way, I’ve seen them many times and they always have a good crowd wherever they go. Except of course for the stupid Justin Timberlake tour. JT’s fans are snotty little brats who wouldn’t know a good band anyway. I attended the GC/JT show in Boston, then left as soon as GC left the stage. I went outside and waited for them by their bus. I could have cared less about seeing Justin Timberlake. Not my kind of
music.
Don’t count Good Charlotte out yet. They are a wonderful band with fun songs and they put on one the best live shows I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen many many bands throughout the years.
