Black Moth Super Rainbow’s “Born On A Day The Sun Didn’t Rise”

Black Moth Super Rainbow’s Eating Us (Graveface) is on our best-o’-'09 short list - it’s the most far-out psycho-tic fairy tale we’ve ventured into since Yoshimi battled those Pink Robots. So we did a somersault, and then a cartwheel, when we found their new video in our inbox this morning.

And just like the Flaming Lips’ “Battle Royale” Yoshimi video accompaniments, BMSR’s clip for the song “Born on a Day the Sun Didn’t Rise” is violently incongruent with the bubbly, cosmic track. Ouija boards are just the beginning in this unnerving video - pretty soon there’s Manson Family-like murders, beheadings and green vomit. And to our surprise, it was directed by Team Tobaxxxo, not George Romero.

Grab your barf bag and try to stomach it:

The Rainbow will be arcing its way across the East Coast too - their live show should be a little kinder on the eyes. The action begins July 24 in New York and ends August 28 in Boston, with a long break lasting most of August.
